Canada Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

It is a non-restrictive work visa that allows students to work for any firm in Canada. Students holding a PGWP are free from the LMIA requirements, which are documents that will enable a company to recruit an international candidate for a job in Canada.

The length of the school programme determines a Post-Graduation Work Permit’s validity. PGWP has a maximum term of three years. A PGWP for a one-year programme is typically given for the same period (i.e. if the study programme is 12 months, the PGWP would be valid for 12 months). A PGWP may be provided for up to three years for study programmes that last two or more years. The permit cannot be valid for longer than the study programme period in Canada.
