Indian PCC Application service of obtaining a Police clearance certificate is not the same as getting a passport. The issuance of an Indian PCC Application is a separate miscellaneous service provided on behalf of Indian police authorities. It is not included in the Passport service. Please note that responsible authorities in India have determined that hereafter PCC will only be awarded following receipt of fresh police verification on the PCC application. This will be true for all types of applicants. Only legitimate passports should be accepted with PCC applications, not passport reissue applications. If your ticket is due for renewal, you can apply for PCC once it is reissued.
Suppose the applicant provides details in their Indian PCC application that differ from the elements in their passport (such as name, place of birth, or any discrepancy in their parents’ names). In that case, the applicant should first apply for a reissue of their passport with the changed/current particulars before applying for Indian PCC Application. The PCC application must be filed to the BLS when the ticket is reissued with the updated information.

In view of this, PCC applicants are requested to assess their requirements for obtaining Indian PCC Application for India well in advance and submit their applications accordingly at the BLS. The PCC is valid for a period of 6 months and can be applied before if there is any expectation of its requirement for PR or renewal of work permit/study permit, etc.
Where to submit Indian PCC applications: Indian nationals, Canadians, and other foreigners of Indian descent, as well as other foreigners who have been in India in the past for education, training, family reasons, or other reasons, must submit their PCC applications to the BLS.
Please keep in mind that BLS takes longer to process postal Indian PCC Applications. As a result, it is preferable to submit a Indian PCC application at BLS for speedier processing, as walk-ins are permitted, and walk-in applications are processed the next working day at the Consulate.
• Individuals: Documents Required for Skilled/Semi-Skilled Workers: Individuals who have entered into an employment contract with a foreign employer directly (rather than through Recruiting Agents (RA) registered with the Protectorate of Emigrants) are required to present copies of the following documents (originals for examination and return):
o Original old passport with self-attested photocopies of first two and last two pages, including ECR/Non-ECR page and observation page (if any).
o Proof of Current Residence (in case of change of address)
o A self-attested copy of the foreign employer’s employment contract.
o A copy of a valid visa (if one has previously been obtained) as well as an official English translation if the ticket is not written in English.
• Individual Documents Required for Unskilled/Women Workers: Unskilled employees and women (under 30 years of age) seeking employment overseas directly (rather than through Protectorate of Emigrants-registered Recruiting Agents) must provide copies of the following documents (originals for inspection and return):
o Original old passport with self-attested photocopies of first two and last two pages, including ECR/Non-ECR page and observation page (if any).
o Proof of Current Residence (in case of change of address)
o A foreign employer’s employment contract, officially confirmed by the Indian Mission, or a permission letter from the respective Indian Mission/Post.
o A copy of a valid visa (if one has previously been obtained) as well as an official English translation if the ticket is not written in English.
